Link Building With Blawg

Blawg is a great resource for Lawyers, Judges and even criminals. If you have a law blog then it might be in your best interest to add yourself to their feed directory. Blawgs has been showing a lot of growth and they’re holding a pr6 page rank, which isn’t too shabby. I’m sorry to dissapoint my readers who are not running a law blog and wanting a general place to snag a link. You can also add your law related podcast to the mix and it will surely drive very targeted traffic to your show.

Blawg was started in December 2002 by Bill Gratsch. While not a blogger himself, Bill had stumbled across a few interesting and useful postings at various weblogs, but too often it seemed simply luck that he found good ones. There was little organization or structure to the blogosphere. With this in mind, Bill scoured the web looking for weblogs that focused on legal-oriented subject matter, with the idea of creating a law blog directory. He found 57. From lawyers writing about their area of expertise, to law librarians offering research tips and tricks, to law professors expressing their opinions and analysis, to technologists discussing the latest trends and ideas in legal technology, these law-oriented blogs or “blawgs,” were providing an early view of the changing dynamics for communication and collaboration within the legal community.

The Link Building Wiki

I sometimes check out the Link Building Wiki for a reference and if you haven’t heard of it, it is worth the bookmark. It is filled with some of the best forum and blog discussions on link building and since it’s a wiki, you can add yours. Obviously this site is no follow but as you come to know me, I still like to build links on relevant websites. The Link Building Wiki has only been online since March 2006, and has quickly become a staple in the industry but that’s not surprise coming from a company like Text Link Brokers.

Squidoo lens’s sometimes go left and forgetten so here are a few places to submit your lens to increase its indexing chances. I usually just like to build a few quality len’s around my niche and then submit and forget. So far they I’ve had a great sucess rate for keeping my pages indexed. I also like to submit my Len’s to social bookmarking sites to give them that extra kick in the ass.

Link Building Chat From My Favorite Forums

So do you want to know where I keep an ear to the ground when it comes to link building techniques? There are a few great sections from all our favorite forums that offer a place to discuss link building in depth. I’ve noticed a lot of repeat questions being asked these days so you have to keep an eye out in order to spot the goods.

v7n Forums offer a great place for friendly chat with knowledgable individuals and companies.  Their forums are just shy of 50,000 wdebmasters so there is no shortage of discussions taking place throughout the day. The places I keep fresh on are a few different sections starting with the “SEO Forum“, and then I mosey into the “Blogging Promotion” section. Another thing I keep in mind is to see what link building services people are offering which every once in a while brings a new method to my attention.

The Digital Point Forums has a specific forum section called “Link Development” which is entirely dedicated to building links. Again lately there has been a lack of new methods being disclosed so its best to look at the most viewed posts in that section. The users that lurk inside Digital Point are very friendly and you can always count on someone helping you out.

My favorite link building forum spot is over at High Rankings Forum where they have a whole link building section with broken down subcategories. There are so many web 2.0 social sites coming out these days so when I find one we can use, I usually talk about it in here.

Squoogle Anyone? Who Can Guess What This Is?!

Squoogle is a site I managed to miss until my good friend pointed it out to me. It’s another nicely put together place to drop links to your social media articles. I used to just make a squidoo page and just bookmark it here and there, but now I got a private list of places that will take my lens. Currently Squoogle offers only these few sites;

  • Gather
  • Squidoo
  • Hub Pages
  • Associated Content
  • Launchtags

These social media and social article sites are a great place to build links on due to the social nature that Google is loving right now. As long as you make your pages quality and well written you have nothing to lose. If anyone has anymore sites to submit your pages to add them into the comments and I will add them to the list.

Yahoo Directory Canada Is Free!

August 14  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

This applies to Canadian websites only and I hold it up there as the Holy Grail of links to get for a .ca website besides dmoz, and it is the Yahoo Directory for Canada. They only accept quality websites and it can be tough at times getting listed within the directory. I’ve had a successful listing for a few clients and only one of my personal websites. The Canadian Yahoo Directory is a pr5 directory and the submission process is so easy it’s well worth the time. You can submit here.
