Link Building With RSS Hugger

Colin Lahay from Mixed Market Arts is the brain child behind rssHugger. The purpose of rssHugger is to bring in more readers through your RSS Feed, as well as providing a strong back link to your website. Colin has managed to provide a unique site which is rewarded by a pr5, 1800+ indexed pages and thousands of links pointing to the site. He has also setup a similar service called wordHugger which I will blog about tomorrow. This just goes to show how you can create new ways of building links and ranking with a unique web service.

The Goal

My goal was originally to get 50,000 blogs signed up with a $10 joiners fee, but due to the fact that I want to support all of the great bloggers, even those who cannot afford $10, I changed this goal to sign up 250,000 free blogs within the first year of operation. With over 112 million registered blogs, with about 175,000 new ones per day, I feel this goal is possible. The money will be used to pay off college expenses, to invest in my other internet startup companies, sponsor like-minded business folk, and continue to support Kiva, who support entrepreneurs in the developing world.

Faviki is a pr6 social bookmarking site that allows you to tag pages with Wikipedia terms( Semantic Tags). This means that everybody uses the same names for tags from the world’s largest collection of knowledge. So what are Semantic Tags? semantic tags represent references to unique concepts that have their own URL. This solves the problem of having different tags for the same concept, which is the case with good old regular tags. Faviki is 100% free and you need to sign up before posting.

WordPress Plugins For Link Building

August 19  |  Internal Link Building, Wordpress SEO  |   Ryan Clark

WordPress has a few great plugins that will help with link building to external resources, but also help build internal links within your blog. Google has recently released official tips for optimizing your link structure on page to improve spidering and indexing. I always like to mention that you send me your links/plugins/advice and I will gladly write about it or add it to the post. WordPress continues to dominate the blogosphere and as you can tell, is easily my favorite CMS.

First up is the brand new plugin called “Internal Link Building” developed by the folks at SEO ROI. I’ve been using aLinks to accomplish some of what this plugin does, but the new one surpasses any in its path. The best feature is that you can set custom links within the post that won’t effect the entire site. You can download the plugin here.

WP-DeliciousPost is a plugin I don’t leave home without. It automatically adds every blog post to your del.icio.us account…pretty sweet eh? The plugin’s homepage says it has been now merged with a new link tool suite called WPLinkTools, but I couldn’t find the homepage anywhere. So if anyone know’s where to get this, comment away. You can download the plugin here.

Yet Another Related Posts Plugin is a great plugin to keep your readers browising around, but allowing the spiders to keep your content freshly indexed. The latest 2.0 version makes use of the tags and categories to bring the reader the most related posts.

Finally Eli from Blue Hat SEO has released a very nifty little plugin called PingCrawl. This powerful took gets WordPress blogs deep links automatically on every post you make. I’ve been modding the code a little myself and this is a really intersting tool that could be used in so many ways.

Link Building With Subbmitt

Subbmitt is a new social bookmarking site invading the already crowded market. Thankfully this isn’t run on Pligg, so the links are SEO friendly and the site has somewhat of a unique appeal. I’ve added a few links over the past week, but I haven’t seen much traffic from the links. So what’s unique about it? Well for one you don’t have to sign up to submit or vote, which is a cool concept but opens a huge door for spamming and gaming the results…so depending on which hat you’re wearing today, you can get a bunch of links regardless. All the articles submitted make the front page and if you want to make your own group, then you have to sign up.

Link Building With Blawg

Blawg is a great resource for Lawyers, Judges and even criminals. If you have a law blog then it might be in your best interest to add yourself to their feed directory. Blawgs has been showing a lot of growth and they’re holding a pr6 page rank, which isn’t too shabby. I’m sorry to dissapoint my readers who are not running a law blog and wanting a general place to snag a link. You can also add your law related podcast to the mix and it will surely drive very targeted traffic to your show.

Blawg was started in December 2002 by Bill Gratsch. While not a blogger himself, Bill had stumbled across a few interesting and useful postings at various weblogs, but too often it seemed simply luck that he found good ones. There was little organization or structure to the blogosphere. With this in mind, Bill scoured the web looking for weblogs that focused on legal-oriented subject matter, with the idea of creating a law blog directory. He found 57. From lawyers writing about their area of expertise, to law librarians offering research tips and tricks, to law professors expressing their opinions and analysis, to technologists discussing the latest trends and ideas in legal technology, these law-oriented blogs or “blawgs,” were providing an early view of the changing dynamics for communication and collaboration within the legal community.

The Link Building Rap

August 17  |  News  |   Ryan Clark

I’ve been watching the top 10 serps for the key word “link building” for a while now, and I’ve noticed someone do something to quickly boost them into the top 10 via an US Google server, and here in Canada they rank #1 for the term “link building”. A man named Chuck has made a little rap about link building, properly made use of social media and networking sites, and is now reaping the benefits of some nice keywords. I’m not sure how long he will rank in the top 10, but I imagine this will still get attention and build a few more good links. I’ve used Youtube in the past a lot for affiliate marketing, and it yields some great results if you’re using the right niche.

The SEO Rapper is a man named chuck, and he’s a SEO Consultant from Houston TX. You can read his blog  * Mo Serious Thoughts *. His blog has a lot of good things to say and anyone could learn something from this guy. He’s utilizing social media very well and it’s a great real world example of how a properly executed campaign is done.

Chuck runs a SEO company called Pop Labs, and as you can see specializes in Social Media Consulting. You can check out their website for fresh marketing ideas, or catch up on their blog. Pop Labs has been live since 2001 and I’ll hopefully get to meet them eventually at a conference. I’ve also got to mention their SEO Tools that are for free on the Pop Labs website. Chuck also runs a Youtube channel where he has a whole bunch of videos including this little gem, “Design Coding”.
