Link Building Blogs Squidoo Lens

I’ve just published a Squidoo lens on my favorite link building blogs and I’d like others to send in links to be put on the lens. If you want to link back to the lens feel free as I will be also building some links to the page to give it some juice. I created the custom rss feed with mashing up all my favorite blog feeds and combining them with RSS Mix. I’ve also left the guestbook open for commenting and the ability to place content relative back links within the comments. If anyone has anything to add at all, or wants to input their own module into my page I would be fine with that.

The Link Building Wiki

I sometimes check out the Link Building Wiki for a reference and if you haven’t heard of it, it is worth the bookmark. It is filled with some of the best forum and blog discussions on link building and since it’s a wiki, you can add yours. Obviously this site is no follow but as you come to know me, I still like to build links on relevant websites. The Link Building Wiki has only been online since March 2006, and has quickly become a staple in the industry but that’s not surprise coming from a company like Text Link Brokers.

Link Building And Character Building With LookupPage

LookupPage has been gaining momentum lately and it just got blogged by Colin over at Mixed Market Arts. It is a way of managing not only your business/professional identity, but a way to build solid and related links. If you’re looking to rank your name and provide a new place for potential clients or business opportunities to present themselves, then make a page about yourself. It’s real easy to create your profile page which is great because I’m a person who could stand to fill out one less form in a day. The best feature without a doubt is the ability to track who is searching for you and where they’re coming from. If this sounds interesting to you then head on over to the registration page and sign up. If you want to take a look at what this has to offer then check out this short and unfortunatly boring video.

Squidoo lens’s sometimes go left and forgetten so here are a few places to submit your lens to increase its indexing chances. I usually just like to build a few quality len’s around my niche and then submit and forget. So far they I’ve had a great sucess rate for keeping my pages indexed. I also like to submit my Len’s to social bookmarking sites to give them that extra kick in the ass.

Link Building Chat From My Favorite Forums

August 14  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

So do you want to know where I keep an ear to the ground when it comes to link building techniques? There are a few great sections from all our favorite forums that offer a place to discuss link building in depth. I’ve noticed a lot of repeat questions being asked these days so you have to keep an eye out in order to spot the goods.

v7n Forums offer a great place for friendly chat with knowledgable individuals and companies.  Their forums are just shy of 50,000 wdebmasters so there is no shortage of discussions taking place throughout the day. The places I keep fresh on are a few different sections starting with the “SEO Forum“, and then I mosey into the “Blogging Promotion” section. Another thing I keep in mind is to see what link building services people are offering which every once in a while brings a new method to my attention.

The Digital Point Forums has a specific forum section called “Link Development” which is entirely dedicated to building links. Again lately there has been a lack of new methods being disclosed so its best to look at the most viewed posts in that section. The users that lurk inside Digital Point are very friendly and you can always count on someone helping you out.

My favorite link building forum spot is over at High Rankings Forum where they have a whole link building section with broken down subcategories. There are so many web 2.0 social sites coming out these days so when I find one we can use, I usually talk about it in here.

Squoogle Anyone? Who Can Guess What This Is?!

August 14  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

Squoogle is a site I managed to miss until my good friend pointed it out to me. It’s another nicely put together place to drop links to your social media articles. I used to just make a squidoo page and just bookmark it here and there, but now I got a private list of places that will take my lens. Currently Squoogle offers only these few sites;

  • Gather
  • Squidoo
  • Hub Pages
  • Associated Content
  • Launchtags

These social media and social article sites are a great place to build links on due to the social nature that Google is loving right now. As long as you make your pages quality and well written you have nothing to lose. If anyone has anymore sites to submit your pages to add them into the comments and I will add them to the list.

Sniffing Out Competitors Back Links For Your Gain

Comments Off on Sniffing Out Competitors Back Links For Your Gain
August 14  |  Link Building  |   Ryan Clark

I follow a lot of great affiliate marketing and link building blogs on the web and come to admire a lot of smart people out there. One of my favorites is Colin LaHay’s “Mixed Market Arts” because his blog is one of the few that has actually taught and old dog new tricks. His Link Building Cookbook is the best laid out blog post on the subject of getting links in 2008.  His blog is a perfect example of someone who I regularly check to see where his top back links are coming from, and what new ones he’s acquired. A quick glance shows that his pet project RSS Hugger is providing his site with some great link juice. If you haven’t signed up for RSS Hugger I suggest you do so for free here.

I believe in doing this for every campaign because you can not only get the same links your competitors have, but you can also determine what they’re doing thats been successful within that niche. This is all assuming within the top 3 ranking sites in the niche you’re after.

Lets say for example you’re marketing a site targeting “Las Vegas Car Rentals”. I’m going to post the results I get from my browser here in Vancouver Canada, so they will be a little different when you search…this is fine though because I can still get my point across.

Dream Car Rentals has built a good amount of back links over time and as you all will be able to tell, would take some time to overcome. From the first 20 back links I snooped out on Dream Car Rentals I could obtain links from %40 of them because they were a few obvious social bookmarking sites and car rental directories. I can also see a few links they’ve paid for within the mix.

Another aspect to look at is how the top bloggers are using link bait to get an ungodly amount of one-way links to their site. Hate him or love him, Shoemoney.com is a great domain to examine in detail because there are few people who can attract links like him. I’ve learned a lot from gaming both Shoemoney.com and SEOMOZ.org in regards to link baiting.
