I just read about the MSDN center setting up a social bookmarking service to the public for link building and information sharing. Well I quickly jumped onto the link to see what they had in the works and I nearly snorted hot latte through my nose as the screen loaded. Now I can easily mock Microsoft when it comes to design, no contest there, but this site takes the cake for boring.
Microsoft is opening up the MSDN, TechNet, and Expression sites to the community, so that technical professionals can better connect with each other, share knowledge, and succeed. Tagging – and especially social bookmarking – are essential ingredients for making this happen. Back in May, just before TechEd North America, we released a preview version of our new social bookmarking app for MSDN, for TechNet, and for Expression. Since then, thousands of technical professionals from around the world have begun using it to save their web favorites online, share them with others, see what other technical pros are favoriting, and connect with others
I quickly saw the links are do follow and SEO friendly so immediately had that to blog about, but I also noticed a lot of people have beat me to the punch. I don’t think I’m really going to use this service at all because anything I had to say would most likely be classified as spam :) Check it out and let me know what you think.
